Hello, Los Angeles: Cafe 50's

This diner in Venice, CA was so cute I decided it deserves its own post. I spotted it while my dad and I were driving around sightseeing. Cafe 50's. It was classic. It was roadside. It certainly lived up to its name. Basically everything you want out of a good diner. We paid a visit for breakfast and we left full and happy. Success!

I think I'm subconsciously on high alert for retro diners. It's never necessarilly on my travel to-do list but I always stumble into one. I am always impressed with how each one has its own special vibe and character. I believe that a diner and vintage memorabilia go together like, lets say, a burger and fries. The first just isn't complete without the other.

My dad is more often behind the camera than in front of it but I snapped this one and love it!

Cheers, my darlings!

  1. I love it! Very retro - I just did a post today about an old city bank that has been restored into a restaurant - I love it when they keep the original features.
